Taipa and Coloane Community Service Consultative Council member Jiang Xuchun said yesterday that the government should send details about the temporary closure of the city’s border checkpoints during a typhoon to everyone’s mobile phone.
Jiang made the remarks during a regular meeting of the government-appointed council at the Islands District Public Services Centre in Taipa.
During Super Typhoon Mangkhut’s onslaught last month, the city’s three land border checkpoints with Zhuhai – the Barrier Gate checkpoint, the Zhuhai Macau Cross-border Industrial Zone checkpoint in Ilha Verde and the Lotus Flower Bridge checkpoint in Cotai – were closed for over 30 hours, Jiang pointed out.
