The General Association of Chinese Students of Macau announced yesterday that it has set up a sex crime concern group, urging the government to toughen punishment for such crimes.
The announcement was made during a press conference hosted by the association’s president.
Last week, the Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a 78-year-old local man for allegedly molesting two girls aged eight and nine during a music class. According to the girls’ statements, the suspect had asked them to sit on his lap when there were not many people in the room, and the suspect sometimes even touched their bodies. The two girls told their mother last month, who in turn reported the case to the police.
