A woman from the mainland was sexually coerced by a male compatriot in a hotel room near Ponte 16 last Sunday, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Leng Kam Lon said at a regular press briefing yesterday.

According to Leng, the 38-year-old male suspect surnamed Tong claims to be a businessman, and the woman aged around 30 met in August this year and became friends, after which they went out to gamble together. On October 29, the woman came back to Macau and both went gambling again.

Last Sunday, the woman returned to Macau and she hooked up with Tong again to gamble. At around 5 a.m. both Tong and the woman went back to her hotel room to chat and have drinks. Tong asked the woman to have sex with him but she refused and they started arguing.
