Münnich Motorsport’s Esteban Guerrieri of Argentina won the Macau Guia Race 3, taking his maiden victory on the Guia Circuit. Second across the line was nine-time race winner Rob Huff of Great Britain, with Hungary’s Norbert Michelisz in third.
Macau regular Gabriele Tarquini claimed the inaugural WTCR title after a 10th-place finish. The Italian carried an 18-point lead over YMR Hyundai driver Yvan Muller of France into the final WTCR race of the season, with Muller – who was sixth on the grid – needing to finish at least third to have any chance of beating his 14th-place starting rival to the crown.
Muller initially made up ground at the start, jumping to fourth ahead of nephew Yann Ehrlacher of France and WRT Audi driver Jean-Karl Vernay, also of France, as Guerrieri passed polesitter Huff for the lead on the run to Lisboa Bent.
