A male taxi driver and his girlfriend are struggling with drug abuse problems and the man took the initiative to surrender to the police for drug rehabilitation as a last resort, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said yesterday at a regular press conference.
Choi said that the male cabbie surnamed Ku, a 45-year-old lives in Areia Preta district with his unemployed 38-year-old girlfriend surnamed Wong. The couple have been living together for around five years and have a 4-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.
At 8 p.m. on November 2, the Judiciary Police received a call from Ku, who told them that he and his girlfriend were taking drugs in their flat at that time. The police immediately dispatched officers to the couple’s flat where the pair admitted that they have been taking drugs for at least four years, according to Choi.
