A local woman cheated her friends by getting them involved in a high-return investment plan from which she got 2.7 million patacas, Judiciary Police (PJ) announced in a press conference yesterday.
According to a PJ spokesperson, a local 58-year-old businesswoman reported to the police on October 23 that a woman surnamed Wong in the middle of last year persuaded her and her son to invest HK$1.15 million and HK$400,000 respectively in a high-return investment plan from which neither ever received any money.
The spokesperson said that the victim bumped into Wong on Monday and a brawl ensued, after which they were taken to the police station for questioning.
