The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a local man in his sixties on Sunday for damaging green areas on the heritage-protected Ilha Verde Hill, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Ho identified the suspect as a 62-year-old retiree surnamed Chong who is living in a social housing estate in the neighbourhood.
Yesterday’s PJ announcement of the case came after the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Monday that it reported to the police on the previous day the suspected criminal damage caused by someone on Ilha Verde Hill.
