Telecom operator CTM has partnered with Tai Fung Bank and BOC Credit Card (International) Limited to launch a UnionPay dual currency credit card that will provide a more convenient way for Macau residents to make payments while travelling around the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).
A launch ceremony of the new card was held at Tai Fung Bank Headquarters Building in Nape yesterday, attended by the bank’s vice president Ao Ieong Iu Kong, the city’s Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) Director Derby Lau Wai Meng and CTM CEO Vandy Poon Fuk Hei.
Tai Fung Bank’s Director Jose Hui Cheuk Hung told reporters that electronic or digital payment is becoming commonplace on the mainland, so local banks are now issuing credit cards that are equipped with digital payment functions.
