A total of 19 buildings in the areas of Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, Guia Hill and Avenida de Horta e Costa were affected by a power cut last night which power utility CEM said was due to a malfunctioning transformer.
About 400 household and shop units were affected by the power cut that hit at about 6:30 p.m.
According to the Public Security Police (PSP), a 36-year-old local man was stuck in a lift because of the power outage. He was rescued by firefighters and did not need medical attention.
