A power outage occurred at Ponte 16’s casino on Saturday, causing the gaming venue to shut down for 10 hours, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) confirmed on the same day, saying that the casino had reported the incident to them.
According to reports confirmed by the bureau on Saturday, the casino had a power cut at about 5 to 6 a.m. due to faulty electricity supply. Although the casino said it had immediately switched on its secondary electricity supply, it wasn’t enough to keep the casino running and so it decided to shut the casino down at 5.30 a.m.
The reports said that electricity was only restored at about 3.15 p.m. when the casino resumed operation.
According to the reports, power utility CEM said the power cut was due to the casino’s internal low voltage electricity supply, pointing out that CEM’s power supply equipment there was functioning properly.
