The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a local man on Monday for reporting a false robbery to the police earlier this month, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Long said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The suspect reported the false crime on January 11 claiming that he had been robbed of 320 patacas in cash by a man in Areia Preta district.
According to Leng, in reality the suspect decided to report the false crime in revenge for having failed in his attempt to steal a mobile phone from the man.
