The Court of First Instance (TJB) acquitted on Friday the former dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Macau (UM), John Mo Shijian, of raping a female student from the mainland enrolled in another local university.

The two co-defendants, alleged accomplices Lei Iok Pui and Ieong Man Man, were also acquitted.

The first and only hearing of the trio’s trial, which was closed to the public including the media, was conducted on January 25, when Mo denied the allegation.
