The Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday that it has removed its star-shaped emblem – which has the official emblem of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) in it – from the roof of the headquarters of its Traffic Department for repairs as some patterns on the police emblem had fallen off due to “normal wear and tear”.
The PSP emblem has the MSAR emblem in the centre, with the Public Security Police name written in the Chinese and Portuguese languages surrounding the MSAR emblem.
The statement came after photos began to circulate on the Internet yesterday showing that the lotus in the MSAR emblem on the PSP emblem on the roof of the Traffic Department headquarters in Avenida de Sidónio Pais appeared to have vanished.
