Man nabbed for forging HK$855,000 car contract: police

A 34-year-old man was arrested on Monday for forging a deluxe car sales contract to cheat a customer out of HK$855,000, Judiciary Police (JP) spokesman Ho Chan Nam said at a regular press conference yesterday.

According to Ho, the 34-year-old suspect is surnamed Dong, who told the police that he is currently unemployed. The victim is a 37-year-old man whose surname was not released. Both are local residents.

According to Ho, Dong was working as a salesman for a car dealership when he committed the crime. He told the victim that a deluxe car was for sale at a very low price of just HK$855,000. By showing the potential customer a – fake – car ownership transfer contract, he convinced the victim to go ahead with the purchase.
