Govt unseals bids for 3 Cotai hospital buildings

The Infrastructure Development Office (GDI) said in a statement yesterday that it expects the construction of three main buildings of the public hospital project in Cotai, officially known as Cotai Health Complex, to get off the ground in the fourth quarter of this year.

Last year, the government said that construction of the three buildings was slated to be completed in 2023.

The Cotai hospital project comprising seven buildings was first announced in 2010 and its construction has been repeatedly delayed. No completion date has been announced recently. Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosário told reporters in 2016 he was “sure” that the construction of the project would not be completed by 2019 as previously planned by the government.
