A local woman was arrested for cheating six mainlanders out of over HK$2 million in a hotel room and air ticket booking scam that she started in June last year.

The suspect told the six victims separately that she was able to book hotel rooms in Macau and air tickets to Japan for much less than the market prices at that time, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chan Wun Man said during a regular press conference yesterday.

According to Chan, the suspect surnamed Wong is 42 years old. She told the police she is unemployed. The six victims are mainlanders, aged between 33 and 55.
