Macau’s former weather chief has won an appeal against his dismissal in the wake of deadly Super Typhoon Hato, which hit the city on August 23, 2017.
The ruling by the Court of Second Instance (TSI) was first reported by the Portuguese-language radio channel of government-owned broadcast TDM yesterday. The Radio Macau report did not say when the court accepted Fong’s appeal against his dismissal.
The Office of the Government Spokesperson’s Office later said in a statement that the government had been notified by the court about the ruling. The statement did not say when the government was notified. According to the statement, the government “does not exclude the possibility of submitting a new appeal in due course.”
