The police arrested 19 “masseuses” in guestrooms of several inns and hotels in Zape and the Patane district on Tuesday evening, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said in a regular press conference yesterday.
A total of 10 local male clients were taken in for questioning during the operation, Lei said.
According to Lei, the police recently received complaints about illegal sexual massage services in guestrooms of a number of inns and hotels. A total of 31 police officers were deployed in the first part of the operation which targeted 20 guestrooms in hotels in Zape on Tuesday evening.
