The renovation of the Taipa Houses’ Macanese Living Museum interior has recently been completed, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Friday.

The museum, the statement noted, recreates scenes of the city’s past through the display of history and culture, home furnishings and pictures. To improve its architecture and preserve the local architectural heritage, the work carried out mainly comprises repairs and the renovation of interior walls, doors and windows, and pavements, the statement pointed out.

The museum had been closed since late April for the renovations to be carried out.

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., except Mondays. It is also open on public holidays. Admission is free. The statement added that public guided tours are available on Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Enquiries can be made by calling 8988 4000 during office hours, visiting the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s website at www.icm.gov.mo, or following the bureau’s official “IC_Art_Macao” WeChat account and “IC Art” Facebook page.
