13 million patacas worth of cocaine seized

A Colombian man was arrested at the local airport on Tuesday for smuggling 13 million patacas worth of cocaine, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said yesterday.

The spokesperson announced details of the case during a special press briefing.

According to the spokesperson, the suspect, a 39-year-old salesman surnamed Rojas, came to Macau on a flight from Thailand early morning Tuesday.

Property price index dips 0.3 pct in June-Aug: DSEC
Macau's overall residential property price index for June-August dipped by 0.3 percent over the previous survey period (May-July) to 268.0, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced today. The indices for the peninsula (268.8) and Taipa/Coloane (264.3) dropped by 0.3 percent and 0.6 percent respectively, according to a DSEC statement. The overall index for existing residential units (289.1) in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) held steady from the previous period.
