The total amount of procurements bought by Sands China amounted to 10.9 billion patacas last year, of which 77 percent was from local suppliers, Sands China President Wilfred Wong Ying-wai said yesterday.
Wong made the remarks in a speech at the gaming operator’s “Local SME Supplier Open Day” held at Sands Cotai Central, attended by about 220 businesses.
Wong said that since the company started a small, medium and micro suppliers support programme four years ago with the Macau Chamber of Commerce, his company has entered into partnership contracts with about 300 local businesses in three categories: small, medium and micro suppliers, “Made in Macau” companies, and young entrepreneurs.
