Macau recorded 10.36 million visitor arrivals in the first quarter of the year, a year-on-year increase of 21.2 percent, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.
In 2000, the first full year after the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR), the number of visitor arrivals stood at 9.1 million.
Overnight visitors (4.7 million) and same-day visitors (5.6 million) rose by 9.3 percent and 33.4 percent respectively.
