Imports fall 2.4 pct in Q1

Macau’s imports fell by 2.4 percent year-on-year to 21.78 billion patacas in the first quarter, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) has announced.

According to a DSEC statement on Tuesday, mobile phone imports dropped by 25.9 percent to 1.6 billion patacas, while gold jewellery imports decreased by 8.3 percent.

Construction material imports dived by 43.9 percent to 334 million patacas.
