Local pugilist Cheong Lap Cheong’s boxing star status is rising as he won his 6th professional fight with a unanimous decision in the “1st Asian Professional Boxing Championship” at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on Sunday.

Cheong (6 wins, no losses and 4 KOs), who is currently the OPBF (Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation) Youth Champion, which he won at the “Lifetime Boxing Fight 1” card at Wynn Palace Grand Theatre in Cotai on December 31 last year, was up against Indonesian Muhammad Wahid (before the fight was 4 wins, 2 losses and 1KO) of Indonesia.

The event was staged by Hong Hong’s DEF Promotions and featured pugilists from Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, the mainland, the Philippines, and Taiwan. The event included a lady’s four-round bout in which Renz Dacquel (2-1, 1 KO) of the Philippines beat Nanako Suzuki (3-2, 1 KO) of Japan.
