A sandwich shop, Casa de Peliseo Sam Meng Chi, opened in 2002 funded by the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), provides training opportunities for the mentally disabled with the aim of helping them enter the local job market.

“Sam Meng Chi” sounds like “sandwich” in English and the literal translation of “Sam” is “heart”.

In Chinese, the shop is called “Saam Mahn Jih Siu Sihk Dihm”.
