A woman who works as a domestic helper has been arrested for using an ATM card stolen from her employer more than 80 times, withdrawing 230,000 patacas in total, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a special press conference yesterday.
According to Ho, the 49-year-old suspect is surnamed Lan, a non-resident worker from Vietnam. She had worked as a live-in maid for her employer since 2013. The surname of the victim, who is in her sixties, was not released.
The incident was reported to the police on May 16 as the victim discovered there wasn’t enough money in her account when she tried to withdraw several hundred patacas on May 13.
