Macau On Sum Fan Chairman Ken Ha Chon Ieng, a purified vegetable retailer, told a press conference yesterday that his company has been providing vegetable purifiers and training programmes for people with intellectual disabilities, with the aim of offering them job opportunities as well as providing safe and clean vegetables for the public.
The Association of Parents of People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau, Macau On Sum Fan Company (“On Sum” means “be at ease”, while “Fan” means “peddler”) and Macau Food Safe Technology Company held a press conference on the premises of the association in Iao Hon. It was attended by about 100 government officials and NGO and business representatives.
Ha told reporters before the conference that his company has been cooperating with intellectually disabled people to provide purified vegetables for the local market, adding that the company provides vegetable purifiers, purification technology and training for intellectually disabled people.
