Fire Services Bureau (CB) Assistant Chief Lam Io Fan said yesterday that 1,972 people abused the ambulance service last year.
Lam announced the figure during a press conference at the Fire Services Bureau Headquarters in Sai Van.
Lam said his bureau had dispatched 41,899 ambulances last year, and the medical staff at the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre determined that 1,972 of them were non-emergencies.
