Court appeals all sentences in Hotel Lisboa trial

The Court of Final Appeal (TUI) yesterday denied an appeal submitted by former public prosecutor-general Ho Chio Meng to overturn the decision by the same court to remand him in custody.

Ho was arrested for his alleged involvement in a graft case on February 26 when he was about to leave Macau.

Ho was remanded in Macau Prison in Coloane by order of the Court of Final Appeal on February 27. The order by the city’s highest court was needed because of Ho’s status as a former principal official of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
