The possibility of typhoon signal No. 3 having to be raised to No. 8 is low as tropical storm “Mun” made landfall over Hainan Island at 12:45 a.m. today, the weather station said in a notice.

The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) statement said that the signal No. 3 would remain hoisted until early this morning, and strong and gusty winds were expected over the bridges, urging drivers to pay attention to traffic safety.

“Under the influence of the outer rainbands, there will be occasionally showers and thunder in Macau,” the notice on the SMG website said late last night.
