In Areia Preta district yesterday at the Macao Boxing General Association’s (MBA) gym a morning of fun for families and an afternoon of fights for the Macau Open Boxing Tournament organised by local fighter Ng Kuok Kun, widely known as KK, and Billy Vong Kuok Ven, who heads the association.
KK told The Macau Post Daily yesterday that on top of the event being the Macau Open Boxing Tournament it was also the double celebration cup to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
KK said that “it took two months to organise the event, I found the fighters, matched the fighters and designed the logo. I am very happy with the result as it is better than the previous event [last year]. Billy is the leader here, [at the gym] and I am the coach so we worked together on the event.”
