The Macau Museum has launched its first junior guide training programme, aiming to enhance young people’s interest in the city’s history and culture, and afterwards those who passed the programme will be given a chance to serve the museum’s visitors, Macau Museum Director Loi Chi Pang said yesterday.
The museum, which is run by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), held an opening ceremony for the training programme yesterday on its premises on Fortress Hill.
Loi told reporters after the ceremony that the programme attracted over 70 pupils and the museum picked 20 by hosting a lucky draw, adding that he planned to keep running the programme and develop a team of junior museum guides to spread Macau’s culture and history to local and tourists alike.
