Local community group Kai Fong released its findings about the low usage of the Praça de Ferreira do Amaral Car Park (colloquially known in Cantonese as “A Ma La Car Park”) during yesterday’s press conference, urging the government to optimise the car park’s facilities and redevelop its underground space.
The press conference was hosted by the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, commonly known as “Kai Fong”, at its Southern Area Office in Rua do Padre António yesterday, releasing its latest findings of the A Ma La Car Park’s usage.
Hiram Ho Weng Hong, the vice managing director of the Nam Van and Sai Van District Residents Mutual Aid Association, said that the survey was conducted in the afternoon of June 1 on the peninsula and successfully interviewed 1,129 Macau residents and tourists aged at least 18, adding that only 20 of them were tourists.
