The Legislative Assembly (AL) yesterday unanimously passed a government-initiated bill regulating the future operation of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system, according to which passengers violating LRT rules will face a fine of between 5,000 and 10,000 patacas.
The bill will become law on the day after its promulgation in the Official Gazette (BO).
The bill’s outline was passed during a plenary session of the legislature in October last year. The legislature’s 3rd Standing Committee held 11 meetings to review the bill.
