According to the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG), the tropical depression is forecast to move north-westwards and towards the west coast of Guangdong and Hainan Island, and is expected to be closest to Macau today.
“It is expected that the tropical depression will pass Macau by around 300 km. The wind in Macau will intensify and reach strong wind level, wind force 6-7, and be gusty at times,” the statement said, pointing out that gust could exceed 110 km/h.
