Chief Executive Electoral Affairs Commission President Song Man Lei said on Friday that local businessman Kevin Ho King Lun, a local deputy to the National People’s Congress (NPC), has officially joined the Chief Executive Election Committee so that the body, which will elect Macau’s next chief executive later this month, now has all its 400 members in place.
Song made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a regular closed-door meeting of the commission at the Public Administration Building in Rua do Campo.
Kevin Ho, previously the first-ranked alternate NPC deputy from Macau, has replaced chief executive candidate Ho Iat Seng as a local NPC deputy after the latter resigned from the nation’s top legislature in April so that he could run for chief executive.
