During a visit to Ha Van district on Friday, chief executive candidate Ho Iat Seng told reporters that raising the height of the embankment for both the waterfront of Macau’s Inner Harbour area and the waterfront of Wanzai in Zhuhai would be one of the solutions to the long-standing issue of severe flooding in the low-lying area along Macau’s western coastline.
Ho said that the solution would require talks between the local government and the Zhuhai government, before a consensus by both sides could be reached.
Ha Van is the Chinese name for the Praia do Manduco neighbourhood in the Inner Harbour area near Barra.
