The Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday arrested a local man – who worked as the Macau regional manger of a chain of fashion shops– for stealing a total of HK$70,000 from a shop branch in the shopping centre of a gaming resort in Cotai over three occasions, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference yesterday.

The chain runs four shops in Macau. The suspect was the Macau regional manager supervising the operation of all the four shops in Macau, before being fired by the company after it discovered his embezzlement, according to Lei.

Lei identified the suspect as a 36-year-old surnamed Leong, who started working for the company in May 2016.
