The Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) said yesterday in an English-language statement that it had never issued a warning for travellers to avoid visiting Hong Kong.
Concerning recent comments posted on social media platforms claiming that the GGCT had urged Macau people to avoid non-essential travel to Hong Kong, the office insisted in the statement that it had never issued such a warning.
The statement noted that GGCT is monitoring the current situation in Hong Kong and is reminding Macau residents to carefully plan their itineraries, as well as to pay close attention to the development of the situation there through news reports, and to avoid protest areas.
