The Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday that from next Monday local and mainland residents as young as seven can use the e-channels to pass through all local border checkpoints.
The PSP statement pointed out that it the police have been “actively researching” measures to make travelling across the borders more convenient, adding that therefore the minimum age of using the e-channels will be lowered from the current 11 to just seven years.
However, the measure is only applicable for people who are at least 1.2 metres in height, the statement noted.
