The Macau Customs Service said in a statement on Friday that its officers busted three separate cases of smuggling goods into Macau last week – last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday respectively.

The first two cases happened at the Macau checkpoint of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB), while the third case occurred at the Barrier Gate border checkpoint, according to the statement.

In the first case last Monday afternoon, customs officers checked a female tourist’s luggage at the Macau checkpoint of the delta bridge and found 26 boxes of undeclared edible bird’s nests that did not have sanitary inspection clearance, weighing about 640 grammes valued at HK$91,000, the statement said.
