The Transport Infrastructure Office (GIT), which was established in November 2007 as a government “project team” tasked with planning Macau’s Light Rail Transit (LRT) system and supervising the LRT construction, has been wound up, according to an executive order published in the Official Gazette (BO) yesterday.
The order takes effect today.
The government said early this year that the Transport Infrastructure Office will be abolished once the fully government-owned LRT company has been established, and that the LRT company will then take over the tasks currently conducted by the office.
