Discarded construction and renovation waste at the Athletes Training Centre in Cotai caught fire yesterday, according to a statement by the Fire Services Bureau (CB).
According to the statement, the fire started at about 10:50 a.m. yesterday in Rua da Patinagem near the Macau East Asian Games Dome and spread about 20 by 20 metres.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and crews from several fire engines fought the blaze, the statement points out. Firemen continued to douse the site of the fire with water once it had been contained to reduce the heat and lower the temperature at the scene, according to the statement.
