The Public Security Police (PJ) arrested a 33-year-old domestic helper from Myanmar on Friday for pulling the hair of her employer’s nine-year-old son as she was unhappy about the schoolboy eating his breakfast too slowly, injuring the boy’s scalp in the process, a PSP spokesperson said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The case happened at around 7:30 a.m. at the boy’s family home in Rua de Brás da Rosa – a street near the Red Market – on Friday. The domestic helper, surnamed Ngno, prepared breakfast for the boy. Watching the boy while he was eating his breakfast, the Burmese maid was dissatisfied with the boy eating too slowly so she pulled his hair twice, the spokesperson said.
When watching CCTV footage of the flat via his mobile phone at 10 a.m. on that day, the male employer saw what the domestic helper did to his son, according to the spokesperson.
