The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a Taiwanese woman and four men and women from the mainland on Tuesday for participating in a “drug party” in a hotel room in Taipa, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon said during a special press conference yesterday.

Leng identified the Taiwanese woman as a 29-year-old who told the police that she works for an airline. The four mainlanders in their twenties and thirties comprise two men and two women. One of the quartet was found to have overstayed in Macau.

The hotel reported to the police in the early hours of Tuesday that a staff member had found suspected drugs and drug-taking paraphernalia in the guestroom after entering the room to clean it. PJ officers went to the room where they found a quantity of drug-taking paraphernalia, small amounts of cocaine and ketamine, as well as two packs of a drug colloquially known as Happy Powder weighing about four grammes, Leng said. The Happy Powder seized has a street value of 3,000 patacas.
