The Health Bureau (SSM) has announced that in its inspections of the city’s private medical institutions so far this year, SSM inspectors discovered that six of them were illegally storing and providing vaccines, describing the situation as “serious”.
The bureau has also said that Macau’s “rigorous” supervision mechanism concerning the use in vaccines has attracted “a large number” of mainlanders to come to Macau and receive vaccines in private medical institutions, such as HPV vaccines.
The bureau convened a press conference on Friday in its pressroom near the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre, briefing the media about this year’s “serious” situation of the illegal provision of vaccines by local private medical institutions, as well as SSM inspectors’ regular and “non-regular” inspections of private medical establishments in recent years.
This undated handout photo provided by Health Bureau (SSM) on Friday shows: a fridge in a local private medical institution which had stored vaccines with food, as seen when SSM inspectors checked the institution.
