A female mainlander, together with a number of men, held two local men in a seven-seater people carrier against their will for two hours earlier this week, after the female suspect thought that she had been cheated out of 20 million yuan (23 million patacas) in a suspected investment scam by another woman who works for the same company as the two victims, in an attempt to force the two victims to return, or tell the other woman to return the money to her, PJ spokesman Chan Wun Man said during a special press conference yesterday.
The main suspect – the female mainlander – and four local men were arrested, while four other men were still at large at the time of the press conference yesterday morning.
Chan merely said that the company is an investment company.
