The total number of personal credit cards issued by banks in Macau rose by 9.4 percent year-on-year in the third quarter, while the credit card turnover and total repayments also recorded growth, Macau’s monetary regulator has announced.
Friday’s report from the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) showed that the total number of personal credit cards issued by banks in Macau stood at 1,403,472 at the end of September, equivalent to an increase of 3 percent quarter-to-quarter and 9.4 percent year-on-year, due to an increase in the number of dual-currency and triple-currency cards.
The numbers of pataca cards, Hong Kong dollar cards and renminbi (yuan) cards rose year-on-year by 8.6 percent to 981,774, 4.8 percent to 97,781 and 13.4 percent to 323,917 respectively.
