In a regular meeting of the Cultural Industries Council yesterday, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chon Weng said that Macau’s cultural industry has developed in a way that it has gradually joined the business sector, a development that he said has been caused by a synergistic effect based on constant cooperation between the government, the business sector, universities and research institutions.

Yesterday’s meeting, which took place at the World Trade Centre Macau (WTCM) in Zape, was this year’s second plenary meeting of the council, which Tam chairs. The council was founded in 2010.

Tam also said that Macau’s cultural and creative brands have also been established step by step, gradually conquering the local and overseas market.
