Britain’s Rob Huff in Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR ended yesterday’s second Suncity Group Macau Guia Race – FIA WTCR practice session with the fastest time ahead of three-time world champion Andy Priaulx of Great Britain.
Sebastien Loeb Racing VW Motorsport driver Huff is chasing a record 10th win on the Guia Circuit this weekend, and stormed into top spot midway through the half-hour session with a 2:29.422 lap. That effort briefly put him eight tenths clear of the opposition, and even by the end of those mid-session qualifying simulation runs, he was six tenths clear of the WRT Audi RS 3 LMS of Jean-Karl Vernay of France.
Priaulx, a two-time winner of the Guia Race, was one of a handful of drivers to improve in the final minutes of the session and ended up 0.253 seconds down in his Cyan Performance Lynk & Co 03.
